The tobacco industry, that is, the producers of cigarettes as the biggest branch in the activities of the tobacco industry, entirely depend on graphic carton board packaging. Cigarettes on the market are, aside from their specific qualities, distinguished by the design of their packaging.

Since there is high competition in this branch, by constantly improving the design, the producers of cigarettes are at the same time changing the conditions of manufacturing the packaging.

Unlike in the food industry, for example, where the emphasis is on food and health established standards in the quality of the carton board and the colors, for the producers of cigarettes the quality of the carton board is a lot higher, however, only due to the demands for high quality printing and finishing determined by the producers' designers and less so for the protection of the product itself.
